Job Description
As a Sales Assistant at Nizams, you will be the face of the store, responsible for ensuring that every customer has an outstanding shopping experience. You’ll assist with various tasks, from welcoming customers to handling sales, stocking shelves, and maintaining the store’s appearance.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Customer Assistance: Welcoming customers and offering expert guidance on products, ensuring their shopping experience is enjoyable. You will assist them in finding products that suit their needs and provide information on new arrivals, promotions, and store policies.
  • Sales and Checkout: Operating the point of sale (POS) system, handling cash and card transactions, processing returns or exchanges, and maintaining the accuracy of the till.
  • Merchandising: Stocking and organizing merchandise, ensuring that products are displayed neatly and appealingly on shelves and racks. You’ll also be responsible for restocking sold-out items and ensuring that price tags are updated.
  • Store Maintenance: Keeping the sales floor clean and orderly, including organizing displays, folding clothes, arranging shelves, and ensuring that the store is presentable at all times.
  • Product Knowledge: Staying updated on the store’s inventory, product features, and promotions to answer customer queries and make product recommendations confidently.
  • Customer Service: Handling customer complaints or questions in a professional and friendly manner. Ensuring each customer leaves satisfied with their experience at Nizams.

Requirements
We are looking for enthusiastic individuals who are passionate about retail and customer service. To be considered for the Sales Assistant position, you should meet the following requirements:

  • Education:
    • A matric certificate or equivalent is preferred, but not mandatory for applicants with extensive customer service experience.
  • Experience:
    • Previous experience in retail, customer service, or sales is an advantage, but we also welcome candidates with no prior experience who are eager to learn.
  • Core Skills and Competencies:
    • Communication Skills: You should have excellent verbal communication skills in English and the ability to engage with customers in a friendly and professional manner.
    • Customer Focus: A genuine passion for helping customers and providing solutions to meet their needs.
    • Teamwork: The ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and contribute to a positive work environment.
    • Attention to Detail: You’ll need to ensure that products are presented neatly and are correctly priced and labeled.
    • Time Management: Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously while ensuring all responsibilities are fulfilled within set deadlines.
    • Technical Skills: Basic computer literacy and familiarity with operating retail POS systems are essential.
    • Problem-solving: Ability to handle customer issues and complaints effectively and calmly.

  • Customer Service Training
  • Cash Handling Certification
  • Retail Management Training
