Minimum Requirements:

  • Must be a South African Citizen
  • Aged between 18 to 34
  • Grade 12 or equivalent

Skills and Competencies:

Should not have been employed permanently with a single employer continuously for more than 1 year

Should not be studying full time in the year of employment

Should not have participated/registered on the YES initiative before

The Social Grant Administrator is responsible for administering social grants at the local office level, ensuring that applications are processed accurately and efficiently. The role involves interacting with applicants, verifying their information, and providing customer support throughout the grant application process. The administrator will also perform various administrative tasks to support the office’s operations and ensure compliance with relevant legislation.

Basic Requirements:

1. Matric/Senior Certificate or equivalent (NQF Level 4)

2. Proficiency in computer use is mandatory

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Valid driver’s license
  • Previous experience in administrative or clerical roles

Key Responsibilities:

Manage the administration of Social Grants at the Local Office

Screen and process Grant Applications

Input Grant Applications into the system accurately

Deliver exceptional customer service

Handle various grant-related documentation and administrative tasks

Conduct quality checks on Grant Applications

Comply with the requirements of the Public Finance Management Act (PFMA), Section 57

Important Information:

Candidates will undergo pre-employment checks including qualification verification, reference checks, ITC, and criminal background checks

Candidates with foreign qualifications must have them evaluated by the South African Qualifications Authority (SAQA) before the selection process
