The role:
Responsible for the management of the human and material resources of the occupational health centre to provide quality occupational health care and create an environment conducive to personnel and business growth and customer satisfaction. This role reports to the Human Resource Manager.
Responsibilities will include but not limited to:
- Management and supervision of the health centre staff
- Financial management of the health centre
- Delivery of quality occupational health and wellness services
- Performance of risk and safety management
- Health data analysis and reporting
- Promotion of total quality management
- Effective People management, ensuring that roles are well defined and clarified and that competencies and learning paths are developed to human capacity and capability
You will need:
- National Diploma / Degree in Nursing (NQF Level 7)
- Degree, Diploma or BTech in Occupational Health Nursing
- Current registration and in good standing with South African Nursing Council (SANC) as a Professional Nurse and Post Basic Occupational Health Nursing Science as an additional qualification
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in the management of a health care centre within the Mining industry, post-graduation in occupational health
- Must be in possession of a dispensing license
- Must be trained in audiometry, spirometry and vision screening
- In depth understanding of relevant legislation governing occupational health
- Experience in COIDA and ODMWA reporting and administration
- Knowledge and an understanding of Health Information Management Systems
- Knowledge of nursing processes, procedures and techniques
- Understanding of safety management, behavioural safety and risk management framework, procedures and systems
- Good understanding of the related health care policies and procedures
- Knowledge of relevant trends in the health field, relating to health and wellbeing
- Awareness on best practices and new technologies in the industry
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Excellent report writing and presentation skills
- Excellent people management and organisational skills
- Computer Literacy (MS Office)
- Valid Driver’s licence
- In possession of or able to obtain a certificate of fitness
Advantageous:
- Management/Business Management qualification
- Primary Health Care (PHC) qualification
- HIV/AIDS counselling and management course
